in October of 1991. It was not long before the Green
Course continued the tradition of the Golden
Horseshoe. Inspired by the timeless 18th century, this
course is situated on 105 acres of mature woodlands
and natural terrain. The Green Course is sure to
provide challenge and pleasure for players of every
caliber.
GUEST PROGRAM:
Spouses and guests are invited on a guided
walking tour of Colonial Williamsburg to learn
about life in the 18th century. Participants will
end the tour in Colonial

Williamsburg; the
historic district of the independent city of
Williamsburg. Here you can grab lunch from
one of the many taverns and peruse the quaint, one-of-a-kind shops.
Colonial Williamsburg consists of many of the buildings that, from 1699 to
1780, formed colonial Virginia's capital. Colonial Williamsburg is an open-air
assemblage of buildings populated with historical re-enactors whose job it is
to explain and demonstrate aspects of daily life in the past. The re-enactors
(or interpreters) work, dress, and talk as they would have in colonial times.
While there are many living history museums,

Colonial Williamsburg is
unusual for having been constructed from a living
town whose inhabitants and post-Colonial-era
buildings were removed. Scores of original build-
ings, hundreds of homes, shops, and public
buildings are reconstructed over 301 acres -
most on their original foundations. Rare animal
breeds, trades, and gardens add layers of
authenticity to the recreated town. Unlike other living history museums,
however, anyone can walk through the historic district of Williamsburg free of
charge at any hour of the day.

Now is Our Time To Think About Insulation Differently!
You may think you have heard this story before, but now
you can get the “rest of the story.” Ron King’s presentation
will review NIA’s Mechanical Insulation Awareness –
Educational message that is being delivered to direct and
indirect people of influence; NIA’s network of Alliance
Partners and outreach initiatives across the county; Provide
an overview of NIA’s current Capitol Hill initiatives including an educational
campaign, tax legislation and stimulus package participation; Review
evidence and estimates as to potential industry growth if only we think about
insulation differently; Review the latest updates to the Mechanical Insulation
Design Guide (MIDG), and a host of other industry initiatives and
opportunities. There has never been a more important time to think about
insulation differently.
With the emphasis on energy efficiency and job creation, the National
Insulation Association and the NIA Foundation

for Education, Training, and
Industry Advancement have taken advantage of this
moment in time and embarked upon a goal to secure our
place in the new administration plan to stimulate the
economy and create a more energy conscience society.
NIA President Larry Nelles of Zampell (right) and NIA
Executive Vice President/CEO, Michele Jones (left) will
update attendees on these exciting
efforts as well as the associations overall structure and

process to help our industry grow. Topics to be covered
during all of the NIA presentations will include: Legislative
Activities Updates, Congresswoman Halvorson’s
Resolution for Mechanical Insulation, Authorizations &
Appropriations and Tax Incentives. In addition, plans are
underway for the 2010 Convention being held at the Walt
Disney World Swan Resort in Orlando, Florida, April 28-May 1. As this is our
industry’s premier event, you’ll learn more about the educational and
networking opportunities available to you.
CANOE TRIP: Enjoy a 2 hour guided canoe trip and lunch on the York River located just 11
miles west of Williamsburg. York River State Park offers visitors an
opportunity to experience the environment of a costal estuary. This park is
known for its rare and delicate environment, where freshwater and saltwater
meet to create a habitat rich in marine and plant
life. The main focus of

the park is to preserve a
portion of York River frontage and its related
marshes while providing an area for passive-day
use recreation for visitors. York River State Park
served as a role model for all of Virginia’s state
parks in developing resource management plans.
The park’s natural resources make it a significant place for environmental
education at all levels.
